Why branded short links matter for Swiss firms

July 21, 2026 · The Vantino team

“Trust our brand. Now click bit.ly/3xK9qor.”

That’s the message a generic short link actually sends. Serious companies — Swiss firms included — send campaign and newsletter links every week that look like they came from a stranger, quietly track their own visitors with third-party cookies, and die the day someone changes a billing plan.

We built Einblik to fix that. Here’s the whole thing in 75 seconds, on a real link:

Einblik in 75 seconds — a real branded link, from creation to analytics.

Your brand disappears at the click

People hesitate before clicking an unfamiliar shortener domain — they’ve learned that a generic short link can hide anything. A link on your own domain — go.yourfirm.ch/offer — tells the reader exactly who’s behind it, and that consistently lifts click-through. For a market as brand- and trust-conscious as Switzerland, putting the company name on every shared link isn’t a nice-to-have; it’s the difference between “obviously us” and “probably spam.”

There’s a reputation angle too. When thousands of people share links on the same generic domain, one bad actor can get the whole domain flagged by spam filters — and your links suffer for it. On your own domain, your reputation is yours alone. (More on why custom domains matter.)

Under the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) — and the GDPR for anyone you reach across the EU — the quiet third-party tracking baked into most shorteners is exactly the kind of thing you’d rather not have to explain.

Einblik’s analytics are cookieless: no third-party cookies, so no consent banner standing between a reader and your link, and no personal-data trail to account for. You still see what matters — clicks, sources, devices, geography — without collecting what you don’t need. (How cookieless link analytics works.)

Keeps your UTMs, strips the tracking junk

Your utm_* tags survive the shortening intact, so your campaign reporting keeps working. The ad-network cruft that rides along on shared URLs — fbclid, gclid, ref — gets stripped automatically. Clean links out, clean data back. (UTM cleaning, explained.)

Links outlive campaigns. They end up in PDFs, slide decks, printed flyers, email signatures, and old newsletters. With most shorteners, the day your subscription lapses those links start returning 404 — and there’s nothing you can do about a flyer that’s already in the wild.

Einblik links keep redirecting even if you stop paying. A link you put into the world stays working.

Moving off Bitly is a CSV, not a project

Already on Bitly or similar? Export your links to CSV and import them into Einblik in one step — same short codes, now on your own domain, with the analytics and privacy defaults above. (How to migrate from Bitly.)

A custom domain is included on the $9/month Team plan — founding price for the first 500 teams — not gated behind an enterprise tier. It’s free to start, no card.

Einblik is built by Vantino for small teams who care about brand and privacy. If it’s useful, we’re happy to set up your first branded link and domain with you personally — just ask.
